Piranesi and Porcelain

Hélène Bremer

The work of Giovanni Battista Piranesi was not only famous in his own days, his legacy lived on and inspired many artists after that. From architects to filmmakers, from sculptors to designers his work continued to fascinate many. The exhibition now on show in Dublin ‘For the Love of the Master, 25 artists fascinated by Piranesi’ indicates that his influence is still very much alive in the 21st century. This talk focusses on the ceramicists whose work has been selected for the show. Three of the artists will join in a conversation on Piranesi and porcelain.
