The Hausmaler: Independent German Decorators of Ceramics and Glass
Errol and Henry Manners
Some of the most original and beautiful ceramic decoration in Germany was produced by small independent workshops in the 17th and 18th centuries.
It is almost 100 years since Gustav Pazaurek published his great pioneering survey, Deutsche Fayence-und Porzellan Hausmaler, in 1925. Since then, much new material has emerged which we will consider in this survey.
