Scholarship opportunity
The French Porcelain Society is delighted to announce that it is funding a scholarship for next year’s Attingham Summer School, which will take place between 28 June and 13 July 2025. Candidates with a professional or academic interest in ceramics will be eligible for the scholarship, which will cover 75% of the fees. Applicants for the FPS scholarship must be members of the FPS.
The Summer School is an internationally-renowned residential course aimed at professionals in the heritage sector. It has three main purposes:
– To EXAMINE the architectural and social history of the historic house in Britain and its gardens and landscape setting.
– To STUDY in situ the contents of these buildings — their paintings, sculpture, furniture, ceramics, silver, textiles and other applied arts — as well as the planning, decorative treatment and use of the interiors.
– To STIMULATE debate on problems relating to the conservation and presentation of the country house and its contents.
More information on the Summer School and the application forms can be found on the Attingham website:
Applicants wishing to apply for the French Porcelain Society Scholarship should apply through The Attingham Trust or, if from the U.S., through the American Friends of Attingham.
