Waddesdon Manor, Waddesdon, Aylesbury HP18 0JH

£80 for members (includes coach, admission fees, lunch and drinks at the end of the day)

Please note that spaces are limited to 40.

Waddesdon Manor is the 19th-century French-Renaissance style Rothschild château built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1889 to house his magnificent collection of works of art and as a place to entertain on a lavish scale.

Rough itinerary:

Departure is at 9:00 am sharp from the Rembrandt Hotel, 11 Thurloe Pl, London, SW7 2RS (South Kensington tube), directly across from the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Divided into two groups, our day will include a house tour and a handling session, led by Dr Mia Jackson, Curator of Decorative Arts at Waddesdon, and our president Dame Rosalind Savill. The groups will be together for lunch, which is included in the overall cost of the ticket. We will be looking at the outstanding Sèvres porcelain, as well as other European ceramics.

At the end of the day both groups will convene for drinks before heading back to London on the coach. We will aim to leave at 4:45 and hope to return to the Rembrandt Hotel by 6:30pm.
