FPS/European Ceramics Study Trip 6 - 8 March 2019

  • "Price options:" is a required field.

Please join us on an exceptional trip to one of the best exhibitions on European porcelain on at the moment.

The Princes’ Fragile Treasures: The Paths of Porcelain between Vienna and Florence is held at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, in conjunction with the Princely Collections of Liechtenstein. The curators of the exhibition Dr. Claudia Lehner Jobst and Dr. Andreina d’Agliano will be accompanying and enlightening us on our tour. Porcelain, but also paintings, sculptures, semi-precious stone inlay work, ivory, crystal, tapestries and engravings serve to point up the fertile dialogue among the arts, celebrating the magnificence of porcelain in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany during the rule of the House of Lorraine.

During our trip we will also visit the exceptional collection of Italian maiolica which has been newly installed in the Bargello Museum and other major collections of porcelain in Florence and contorni.

Unfortunately we can only take the first 25 subscribers. The total cost of the trip is £300 and this includes entry tickets, three lunches, and one glamorous dinner. Please note that Hotel and Trip are not included. Also not included is the Verrocchio exhibition, but the exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi will open on 9 March to the public, so perhaps worth extending your trip by a day.
