SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG – EXHIBITING A MANUFACTORY’S PAST AND PRESENT

Dr. Christian Lechelt

After two years of renovation and redesign, Museum Schloss Fürstenberg opened its doors to the public in March 2017 with a totally new concept. Instead of arranging a mass of objects like in a study collection, the new exhibition is organized by theme and invites visitors to embark upon a journey of discovery throughout the world of porcelain. The aim of the lecture is to examine the museum’s new concept along with a presentation of Fürstenberg as one of Germany’s oldest porcelain manufactories dating back to 1747.
