AGM, Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue Memorial Lecture and Dinner 2024

Please SAVE THE DATE for the 2024 French Porcelain Society Annual General Meeting (AGM), Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue Memorial Lecture and Dinner on Saturday, 29th June 2024.

At the Treasure House Fair, Royal Hospital Chelsea, South Grounds, London, SW3 4SR

Dr Mia Jackson, Curator of Decorative Arts at Waddesdon Manor, and Bernard Dragesco, Antique Dealer and Art Historian, will deliver the Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue Memorial Lecture based on recent research on the Sèvres porcelain painter Louis-Denis Armand l’aîné (active 1746–1788), as part of the exhibition Flights of Fancy: Birds at Waddesdon (22 May – 27 October 2024). Armand l’aîné specialised in depicting fanciful birds on landscapes and his work is extensively represented in the Rothschild collection at Waddesdon.

The programme for the evening is as follows:

18:00 – 18:45  – Annual General Meeting (in person and online via Zoom for members only)

18:45 – 19:45 – Sir Geoffrey de Bellaigue Memorial Lecture (in person and online via Zoom open to everyone)

19:45 – 20:15  – Drinks Reception

20:15 – onwards  – Dinner*

Attendance to the AGM, lecture and drinks reception is free, for members only.

Attendance to the dinner* is £120. There are a limited number of dinner seats at £60 for under-35 Emerging Scholars.
